Description: |
Room For Rent!$900 –Grad Student from ATL Needs Roommate for 2BR/1BA near USC
1BR in 2BR/1BA available for 12-month lease, a few minutes walk (for real) from USC University Park campus.
Location:
2659 Ellendale Place Apt #10
Los Angeles, CA 90007
(2 blocks North of USC University Park campus)
About the place:
2BR, both rooms have large closets, air conditioning units, and decent amounts of natural light (not much of a view though), rooms are about 10’x12’.
1BA with full shower/bathtub, toilet (!), and mirror and sink outside the actual bathroom.
Full kitchen with gas range, oven, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and enough counter space to prepare proper meals.
Large living room, approximately 20’x12’.
Secure parking (available for $75/mo).
New carpet throughout apartment.
Considering some of the teardown health hazards I looked at before signing a lease here, the apartment is pretty nice, fresh, and clean for LA/USC/University Park standards. I must have looked at 20 properties before choosing to live here over the past weekend, and in my opinion this is the best place I found to rest my head near campus.
The overall rent for the apartment is $1800/mo, so your part would be $900/mo. Security deposit is $900 + $175 cleaning deposit. If you’re feeling cozy, the room can be shared for $550/mo per person.
Water is included, we pay power, gas, phone, and/or cable.
About me:
First-year graduate student at USC, majoring in Communication Management at USC Annenberg.
Born and raised in ATL, fresh transplant to SoCal/West Coast.
Generally awesome in all aspects (for real).
Music addict – I’ve been DJing in clubs and on radio for several years, I used to manage a 100,000 watt college station in Atlanta, I go out to live music events every week, I read all those music magazines you love to hate, and I produce music (or at least try to) on a semi-regular basis. My main focus is electronic/dance music but I have a strong affinity for hip-hop/rap, funk/soul, dub/reggae, punk/rock, and forward/slashes.
Very liberal both socially and politically
My favorite meal is breakfast, and eating breakfast in the mid-afternoon on the weekend is crucial to my existence.
Tech-savvy – I’ve got a pretty deep background in IT with a focus on web technology (design and development). My three favorite recent innovations in technology are consumer broadband connections, the iPod, and BitTorrent. Honorable mentions go to Google, PHP, and Reason 3.0.
Television: The Sopranos, Lost, The Wire, Entourage, NOVA, Frontline, and Atlanta-based sports teams are all awesome. Reality television and 24 hour news networks are NOT awesome.
I tend to get along with everyone, but a few things I have a low tolerance for are big egos, discrimination based on race/gender/age/class/sexual orientation/etc, liars, shadiness, and sloppy drunks.
If you think we’d get along living together for a year and you need a place to live, drop me a line at m@tripleoptic.net. I have no preference on your race, gender, age, etc – If you can pay the rent and bills every month and think we’d get along based on the above criteria, email me some info about yourself and we’ll go from there.
