My house:
* Dual zoned (upstairs and downstairs are temperature controlled separately), saves us money!
* 2 family rooms. A fireplace in the living room.
* Formal dining room.
* 2 car garage (both garage doors have an automatic opener)
* Large backyard with an extended patio. I've got my new lawn going well and have been landscaping beautiful bushes and flower beds. There's lots of space.
* Like new paint & carpet throughout (neutral colors).
* W/D included upstairs near the bedrooms - very convenient.
* Second bedroom for rent is standard 11x11 feet each with cable hookup and private closets (you can use a second closet from another room too!). I have a futon mattress, dresser, nightstand, lamp, and window curtains already in the room for you to use if you're lacking. Otherwise, you'll need bedroom furniture of your own (Queen size bed fits!).
* Bedrooms do not share a wall, so noise is well insulated.
* My house is next to the Beaver Creek shopping area where Hwy 55 and Hwy 64 meet (gym, grocery, etc. within minutes). We are not far from Raleigh or RTP. The commute has no traffic problems like on Hwy 40!!!
* Wireless internet throughout the house (I have a wireless router)
* All common areas are furnished.
* There is a little bit of room for storing things in the under-the-stairs closet.
* Kitchen is spacious and there's tons of counter and pantry space for extra dishes and food.
Me:
* I have a super sweet medium hair, 2.5 year old cat, so hopefully you are not allergic. She gets along well with other pets.
* I am a non-smoker.
* I rarely (basically never) drink.
* I am a 26 year old professional (recent NCSU and VT grad) working for IBM.
* I am an extrovert who likes the company. I've always had roommates, from dorms to apartments, and now in my first house!
* I am a very neat person, so the house is kept very nice.
* I like dancing, mostly salsa and swing.
* I like crafts.
* I also love company, so sometimes I host a small gathering for a board game night.
The lease:
* $500 monthly rent. I prorate partial months.
* We decide how long the lease is for (at least 4 months), and it automatically renews (say 4 month periods) for convenience and flexibility. That way you can stay long term, but not feel like you're locked in at yearly intervals.
* The refundable deposit is $300.
* Utilities run about $100-150 each month per person (this includes everything! cable, internet, water, electricity, gas).
* I keep bills in a folder and also enter them into a Google spread sheet that allows you to see anytime online the bills, how much you've paid, and the resulting left owed. It's very convenient.
* If you have a pet, it's $30 extra each month. The refundable deposit remains the same.
