Description:
Room for rent available May 1 for $ 365 per month, including utilities. Other rooms are available on or about May 1, May 15, June 1, and July 1. Many students on summer internships in Atlanta have lived here in the past. The rental rate for the rooms available in May and June vary but are in the $ 365 to $ 425 range (including utilities) and can be rented for the summer or part of the summer. Room for rent available now for $ 365 per month, including utilities, in the trendy Westside Waterworks Area in Midtown Atlanta just west of Georgia Tech. Please e-mail roomforrent2006@gmail.com for a more detailed description. Please note that the below stated street intersections are not correct. Just e-mail roomforrent2006@gmail.com for further details. Please do not drive around and try to find the place. The Westside Waterworks area is an eclectic intown area composed of old warehouses (our building is not an old warehouse) which have been renovated into office and residential lofts and restaurants, bars, and interior decorating stores. It's a hot entertainment district. It still looks a little sketchy but is not. All the panhandlers and parasites are east of the downtown connector in Midtown proper. This is a great area. But it is not suburbia - if you like suburbia you won't like this. Apartment loft studios nearby rent for $ 850.00 per month. See www.woodaltawest.com. 561 sq. ft. studio units at another naerby newly constructed project rent for $ 740 per month plus utilities and plus water (water is expensive in Atlanta). See lecraw.com, the MStreet apartment home project. The point is that $ 350 per month including utilities ia a phenomenal deal in this part of town. There is also a massive, about ten story, new private dormitory going up with rooms renting for about $ 700 per month plus utilities within eye sight of our building. For information on the neighborhood please see www.artery.org - our rental rates are a phenomenal deal for this area. This neighborhood of old warehouses converted into antique shops, bars, restaurants, decorating and design shops, and offices is the hottest and coolest area in Atlanta. But it's not for everyone – again, if you like suburbia you won't like this. (Note that a lot of the photographs of the old warehouses on www.artery.org are the "before renovation" photographs. Those buildings are now magnificent." This area is the epitome of "urban chic." As an example - the perennial # 1 rated restaurant in the Southeastern US is just down the street. An excerpt from a review is as follows. The full article is at http://www.vegetariantimes.com/document_display.cfm?section_id=21&document_id=225: "Bacchanalia is ... the winner of numerous awards, including its ranking as Atlanta’s top restaurant for several years running. The Atlanta newspaper says the following about Bacchanalia, "Bacchanalia effortlessly combines the ingredients that make it the grand dame of fine dining in Atlanta — warehouse chicness, formally informal service, generous portions and a menu that puts forth the best of local ingredients with an occasional Southern accent." When their business had grown to the point where the couple had a waiting list at Bacchanalia, they moved it to its present larger location, a former meat-packing plant with ample room to house the Star Provisions marketplace. To reach Bacchanalia-a slick, modern, special-occasion restaurant with a sweeping view of Atlanta’s skyline-guests must pass through the market, a dangerous walk for anyone who may crave pastries, cheeses, local produce, and coffee, as well as cookbooks, crockery and cooking tools." Another article about Bacchanalia is "Industrial Magic," the URL is http://static.highbeam.com/h/housebeautiful/october012000/industrialmagicremodelingofbacchanaliarestaurantin/ An article about another top ten in Atlanta restaurant (The Food Studio) located around the corner in a gorgeous of warehouse is: http://atlanta.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=atlanta&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fthefoodstudio.com A recent opening, Chow Baby, made the list of Atlanta's top 100 restaurants and is about three minute walk. http://www.therealchowbaby.com. Additinally, an upscale pizza place opened just across the street from Chow Baby. It made one magazine's pick of the week. http://www.atlantacuisine.com/pastpicks/slicepizza.html Several establishments within a short walking distance were voted "Best in Atlanta" by various publications such as the entertainment rag, "Creative Loafing," and "Atlanta Magazine". For example, OCTANE was voted best coffee place in town (it is about a three minute walk), NORTHSIDE TAVERN – a real dive - is always voted the best blues spot in town (less than a five minute walk), BACCHANALIA perennially is always voted the best overall restaurant in town (about a ten minute walk), THE FOOD STUDIO always makes the top ten best restaurants in town (a ten minute walk), ATLANTA YOGA, in a really cool space in an old warehouse, is always voted best Yoga place in town and it is a two minute walk, TACQUERIA DEL SOL is very reasonably priced and is sometimes voted the best Mexican place in town and is about a ten minute walk, FIGO makes the top ten lists of Italian restaurants in town and is a ten minute walk, ROCKY MOUNTAIN PIZZA, in a really cool old brick triangular building, is a big college trivia bar place and is my "best of Atlanta" for cheap beer – lots of brands of beer in bottles for $ 1.50, STAR PROVISIONS gets awards for best of Atlanta for specialty groceries (it is a ten minute walk and too expensive), CARVER'S GROCERY perennially makes the top five for down home Southern cooking and is where the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, judges, local celebrities, as well as construction workers, share tables eating lunch ( a 30 minute line forms at 11:00 am), and the COMPOUND was rated the best nightclub in town and is a five minute walk. Several interior decorating shops have been voted "best in Atlanta" but since I don't keep up with them, I cannot tell you which ones. All the above said, if a stranger in town drove through the neighborhood without any knowledge of the above - he would lock his door as he attempted to leave hurriedly from what appeared to be a crime ridden spooky industrial wasteland. You have to know what to look for and where to go to find the garden spots in the neighborhood and then you will love it - unless you are a suburbia lover and then you will leave as fast as you can whining about the dearth of chain restaurants, franchise operations, fast food, strip shopping centers, and manicured grass and perfect sidewalks. I included the above so you can get a feel for the neighborhood and so you would realize exactly how much of a deal $ 365 per month including utilities is in this part of town.
